Explore Lisbon hidden gems, real life and culture on a 17 tastings food and wine tour!

This is one of the Top Gastronomic Experiences in the World on Airbnb, with more than 3500 five-star reviews in different platforms!

On the original food tour of Lisbon since 2016, we make five stops, all in restaurants and shops run by local families featuring traditional Portuguese food.

Enjoy more than 17 tastings — and not just Portuguese snacks, but real Portuguese dishes — all while sipping some of the best wines, including a nip of Madeira or Port wine to wash it all down with.

Take a walk through history and contemporary life and explore the three oldest neighborhoods in Lisbon: Alfama, Mouraria and Baixa.

Discover a fascinating gastronomic world intertwined within a human and urban landscape.

We take you places you wouldn’t find on your own. We serve meals you wouldn’t order and tell you things that you can’t Google!

We strike the perfect balance between walking, resting, and eating. You’ll leave with enough information and curiosity to explore other areas, with your belly of course, from traditional to experimental Portuguese gastronomy!

a woman sitting at a table with a plate of foodPortuguese food has so much to offer, famous for its wine, meat, seafood, its ‘conventual’ desserts (beyond the infamous custard tart), and much more. From Mediterranean influences to the legacy of Portugal’s colonial history, namely in the wide variety of spices used, our small-group walking tour in Lisbon will leave you craving for more.

We present you with a selection of flavors, cooking techniques, and cultural influences through small plates and the right beverage (Portuguese wine, liqueurs, juices), all while wandering hidden corners of the city.

Several tapas (aka ‘petiscos’ or Portuguese appetizers) make up our overall menu. And don’t worry, you won’t miss out on some of the best Portuguese wines!

Our walking tour also includes a wine tasting experience that allows you to learn about Portugal’s wine regions, tasting red and white wines as well as port wines and liqueurs, like the famous Ginjinha. If you don’t drink alcohol, we have delicious alternatives, from natural juices to lemonades, available at every stop.

MEETING POINT

We will meet under the Arch of Rua Augusta, a very central spot in Lisbon, right in front of Praça do Comércio also called Terreiro do Paço.

If you are arriving by public transport, take the METRO to Terreiro do Paço station and then walk approximately 5 minutes.

TRAMWAY 28 is also 5 minutes walking distance from our meeting point.

Come explore, eat, drink, and be merry with us on our food tour of Lisbon and taste both tradition and history in a fun and informative way.

“Exceeded my expectations! Silvia gave us such insights into the changing Portuguese landscape of both architecture, cultural diversity, and gastronomy over the centuries. Her commitment to quality and family-owned businesses is a testament to her belief in the beauty of the culture. Food selections and wines were spot on. Highly recommend it for foodies and anyone who likes learning about food and culture. Silvia gave much more than I expected which elevated the experience. Don’t underestimate the value of the commentary to enhance the food and cultural experience”.

“I was late to this experience because my driver and I were rear ended in the Uber. Thais told me where to meet everyone because I had been awake for about 40 hours after traveling, and was very confuses about where to go. You would think after being rear ended while tragically sleep deprived, that I would’ve had a terrible experience on this excursion. Byt was not the case at all! Thais took us on a fantastic walk with five different amazing small meals with wine. I don’t drink, but this was not a problem. There was always an option for me. Thais also told stories of her travels and life experiences. She is so clever, funny, and bright. She made us all laugh and it seems like the other guests also enjoyed her as much as I did. I really enjoyed all the history she shared with us. About the churches, the Moors, the fish wives, and the different neighborhoods. My friend came to visit the next day and I took her on some of the same steps and was able to tell her some history thanks to Thais. Take this tour! PS - I really liked they confirmed everything the day before.”

“Samuel was a phenomenal host and guide. He showed us places we would never have found on our own and taught us so much about the history of Lisbon. He even lent us his umbrella when it started raining. Throughout the tour, we were immersed in local culture and far away from tourist traps. We had a great small group of six and really had fun together. The best thing we’ve done on our trip to Portugal. Highly recommended!"

“We absolutely recommend this tour, especially with our co-host Dárida. She is so warm and kindhearted. We appreciated how personable she was with everyone. This was hands down the best decision we made as far as a walking tour goes. We had an amazing group of people that we all connected with. The food, the drinks, and the history we received felt authentic and informative. They even offer a great list of follow up spots to hit after the amazing tour she guides you through. Mahalo nui loa & Meshew forever! Best tour ever!”
